Lisa Rie, Co-Artistic Director

Lisa Rie is a founding member and choreographer
for NDC. She began her training in dance in the Bay Area and attended University of Pacific where she received
her B.A. degree. She has appeared in numerous local and Bay Area venues, including San Francisco’s
Cowell Theater and the Legion of Honor. She has also performed with the Stockton Symphony, Stockton Chorale,
and in the multi-disciplinary “In the Moment” improvisational project. She is a teacher-leader
for VCAP K-12 dance and has developed outreach programs and performances for art spaces such as downtown’s Art Walk,
The Haggin Museum, the Tidewater Gallery, and the Reynolds Gallery at UOP. Lisa is passionate about the
collaborative process and experimenting alongside other performance artists. She is also passionate about
her work as a teacher at the Transitional Learning Center, a school for homeless students.

Ana Frenes-Sobaszkiewicz,
Co-Artistic Director

Ana Frenes-Sobaszkiewicz has been involved with New Dance Company as a
dancer, director, and choreographer since 1989. She is presently the Director of Dance at Franklin High School.
She received her B.A. in Pre-Dance Therapy from UOP and has a credential in Sports Science. She has studied dance
in the Bay
Area and Los Angeles. Ana has taught dance and choreographed for UOP Dance Department, Hamilton Middle School, SUSD Summer Arts program, Private Industry
Theatre Project,
San Joaquin County Artist in the Schools, Stockton Civic Theatre, Central Valley Winterguard Circuit, and presently teaches modern
dance technique for NDC. Ana was nominated or
the Dewar’s Young Artist Award and received an award for choreography from Stockton Civic Theatre in 2005.
